Zoom...Zoom... Ka-Boom (ouch)

CRF250X Pictures, Images and Photos

Last weekend we decided at last minute to go see Jason's mom and family. They were meeting up with some friends in Arizona about 30 minutes out of Blythe. We have been there before with them and thought it would be fun to also go for a few days. It is literally in the middle of the desert and it is a wonderful place to ride our dirt bikes. Jason's mom brought out their travel trailer and the girls had a fun time hanging out with grandma and papa. Jason and I pretty much went riding the entire day, and near the end of the day I decided to not ride my quad any longer. One of the guys in our party rides his dirt bike professionally and Jay thought it would be fun to go out with him. Jason has been thinking he may someday start racing his dirt bike as well at our local tracks. Both of them were gone for a while and decided to come back to camp. Not even 1/4 of a mile from where we were camping Jay hits a large rock and his bike flew one way while he flew another. He came back to camp not saying anything about being hurt and was only worried about the way his new dirt bike looked. He got out the tools and fixed his bike for a good 20 minutes or so.

Once he got undressed he then realized he was hurt pretty bad. He had a little over a 2 1/2 inch cut almost down to the bone on his knee. At first he was not interested in getting it checked out, but then realized it was pretty bad. We loaded up the truck, the kids, and all of our junk and drove 3 1/2 hours home so that he could be seen. I took him to the hospital and he ended up receiving 14 stitches and a huge soft cast on his leg. He really does not complain about it much...Thank God! But boy is he proud of pushing himself on his bike. I can tell you...my husbands crazy at times! LOL :0)

New Years Trip to Utah

A few days after Christmas we were sitting in Jason's dad's living room talking about snow trips and the fun places we have been. It must of been a good conversation because Jason and I decided at last minute that we wanted to go on a trip for New Years. We were both getting the itch to go somewhere. We originally wanted to go see my best friend Jordan but it was over 18 hours away. :0( So the day of our trip we flipped a coin to determine where we would go.

Heads- Bryce Canyon, Utah
Tails- Grand Canyon, Arizona

Well let's say heads won. We literally packed up our bags and headed to Utah with no notice or planning. I did book us a room though along the way. It took us about 8hours to get to Utah. Along the way we stopped off at our other favorite vacation spot and had dinner on the Las Vegas strip. As we were getting closer to Bryce Canyon is got really cold. It was below -1 degrees. Burr! Once we got to Bryce Canyon it was beautiful. The town was extremely small with one store, one gas station, and one restaurant open. The lodge that we stayed at was called "Ruby's Inn." The Inn was really cute and it had a lot of activities going on. New Years night we spent time at the ski lodge and celebrated with the locals. It was wonderful! Enjoy the pictures of our New Year's trip.

The Putney Family Pictures

Happy 2009...

Our family would like to wish you and your family a wonderful, safe, and happy 2009. I feel like we just started 2008 and now we are celebrating 2009. This year has been a very good year for our family. Of course we had a few ups and down, but most of them have been good. We have decided to start a blog so we can share special moments with our friends and family. This is a picture that we took of my brother Jakob, my niece Trinity, Kamryn and Brittni.

Brittni is now 8 years old and is doing really well. She is currently in the third grade and loves to read and to play on the computer. Brittni also loves to paint and scrapbook. She is in cheer and was just recently in the Veterans Day Parade and the Christmas Parade. Last month Brittni was “star student” of the month. She is such a caring child and truly wants the best for all.

Kamryn is doing really well. Kamryn is three years old and is my little girly-girl. She loves to dress-up like a princess and at times loves to act like a “rocker chick.” Kamryn loves reading books and playing with puzzles. Every morning before school she yells from the back seat, “mommy we go to starbucks!” I really think I started a bad habit with her. She is such a sweet child and is growing up so big.

Jason is doing great. The Navy has been keeping him really busy this year. We were really lucky to have him home for this entire year. The USS Bunker Hill was taken out of the water to get fixed. During that time, Jason attended two schools and did really well in both of them. He graduated top of his class. Jason is currently an MR1 aboard his ship. On his free time he enjoys riding both his dirt bike and his street bike.

I am doing fine myself. In September I graduated from Kaplan University with Honors. My graduation is coming up in Miami, Florida. I graduated with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies-Early Childhood Development. I am currently working again for VIP Tots in Hemet as a home program special needs teacher for children under three. I love being a “mommy” and a Navy wife. I love my family with all my heart and feel very blessed for all the wonderful experiences we have together.

We wish everyone a wonderful 2009!

Love, The Putney Family
